Two individuals hold up a German tourist couple in Cala de Bou with a gun

A German tourist couple, aged around 40, were robbed at gunpoint at around 3am this morning in the middle of Cala de Bou street, in the municipality of Sant Josep, according to witnesses who have informed this newspaper.

The tourists, staying at a hotel in the area, were strolling along Cadiz Street, when, from a vehicle, two people robbed them at armed robbery, in a scene that looks like something out of a movie. The victims of the robbery do not know if it was a replica or a real gun.

The car, black in color, was driven by a woman and a man, who was in the passenger seat and was carrying a pistol, got out of the car, apparently to approach the German tourist, threaten her and take her belongings. The assailant forced the German tourist to take some 150 euros in cash and also a cell phone.

Meanwhile, the tourist, pounced on the driver and after struggling with her for a while, managed to snatch a small purse containing documents inside, a wallet and a cell phone. Not without tearing his shirt and suffering some injuries. Although he desisted when the other man pointed the gun at him.

Both arrived at the accommodation where they stay during their vacations in Ibiza very affected, details an eyewitness. In the case of the woman, she started crying because of the fright generated by the robbery and her partner was also quite nervous.

The investigation

The Guardia Civil went to the hotel to take testimony from those affected. The tourists gave him the documentation that allowed the agents to identify the driver of the vehicle, from Barcelona but with residence in Ibiza.

A security guard from another hotel in the area acted as interpreter between the Germans and the agents, since the victims of the robbery could not defend themselves very well in English.

In addition, the Guardia Civil patrol informed the victims that in order to denounce it is necessary to deliver a previous injury report pending to be delivered today. The City Council of Sant Josep is aware of the facts and has reported that the Benemérita has already taken charge of the investigation.
