The National Police have arrested three adults in Palma for physically assaulting their daughters when they did not accept the sexual orientation of the two teenagers. Some of those arrested are the father and mother of one of the girls. The third arrested is the mother of the other teenager. All three are charged with a crime of ill-treatment, as the three parents did not accept that the two girls were in a relationship with each other. The victims suffered blows with their hands and were even assaulted with a telephone charger cable, according to the police.
This investigation was carried out by the UFAM group, dedicated to crimes committed in the family environment. The agents became aware of an episode of ill-treatment in two different families by the parents, since the adults did not accept a relationship maintained by the underage girls. As a result, an investigation was initiated thanks to the protocols applied in the education sector. It was the teachers who discovered that the girls had been assaulted because of their sexual orientation, for maintaining a relationship with each other.
The police officers took statements from several witnesses, and they were it was found out that one of the victims had been receiving pressure from her parents, who insisted that she break off the relationship with the other girl.
Strong pressure
The pressure was increasing, to the point that the girl was re receiving homophobic insults, as well as blows and hair-pulling.The situation worsened to the extent that she was beaten with a cell phone charger cord.
The parents of this young girl went to talk to the parents of the other teenage girl, exiging them to break off the relationship, at the same time that they received new threats.
The mother of the second victim did not know that her daughter was having a relationship with another girl. From that moment on, the woman began to pressure the teenager to break off the relationship. She used all kinds of insults and even assaulted her, also using the cable of a telephone charger, as well as a small wooden stick.
Faced with this situation, the Police arrested the three adults and they were charged with a crime of ill-treatment in the family environment.
