Nit de Sant Joan on Ibiza: The bonfire celebration returns

In ses Figueretes, 150 bonfires were prepared for visitors to enjoy the Nit de Sant Joan.

Watching the wind carefully, yesterday the Pitiusas was again about to celebrate a Nit de Sant Joan like before the pandemic, with public gatherings in plazas and beaches and the great celebration of fire, which in many corners of the islands was accompanied by concerts, shows, workshops for children and, as is traditional, tastings of Sant Joan macarrons.

Festivities were held in many places, from Sant Joan, which today pays homage to its patron saint, to Formentera, Santa Eulària, Santa Gertrudis or Sant Rafel. In Ibiza the beaches concentrated a large public since mid-afternoon.

Sea breeze and families for Nit de Sant Joan

The groups of friends and families enjoying the sea breeze and the calm sea was the perfect atmosphere last night on the beach of ses Figueretes. Many had arrived and taken their spot in the afternoon to be able to enjoy the Nit de San Joan and “spend some time with friends here, which has not been possible in a long time, and enjoy Figueretes quietly,” said Aleix Alvarez, one of the Ibizans who had decided to celebrate this holiday.
