These are the new radars in Ibiza in 2024

The Consell calls for the installation of two more cinemometers in Forada and Santa Gertrudis

The Dirección General de Tráfico (DGT) has handed over and will install a new speed camera in Can Guillemó, on the Sant Antoni road, at the request of local residents and the Ibiza Council itself, as this is one of the most dangerous stretches of the island’s road network. But in addition to this one, the DGT plans to install two more fixed speed cameras on the island this year.

The second radar will be in the santa Eulària road, at the height of the Eivissgarden nurseryas reported by the Consell de Ibiza. A third radar will be located on the ses Salines road (at the height of Sant Francesc), another place that has also been the scene of some serious accidents and where vehicles usually drive faster than the allowed speed.

Two more

The Consell de Ibiza has been demanding for some time now radars in Can Guillemó, Sant Francesc, Forada and on the Santa Gertrudis road (at the Colegio Morna intersection). It so happens that on this last road there have also been several fatal accidents. However, from the santa Gertrudis radar there has been no pronouncement by the DGT, explained from the Consell.

Regarding Foradathe DGT has denied the request of the radar made by the Consell and has proposed some modifications in the road for which there is already an executive project. In addition, the City Council of Sant Antoni will install provisional elements until the project is not executed, as reported by the insular institution.
