Although the bus has been sent to the workshop, the mechanic has not detected any technical issues at this time, according to the same source.
The breakdown of the Alsa bus in Ibiza caused a major traffic jam on Avenida de Espaรฑa, one of the city’s main avenues. The incident resulted in all the buses behind the broken down vehicle getting trapped, causing gridlock in one of the two lanes. However, cars were able to overtake the buses and avoid getting stuck in traffic. Once the driver of the stalled bus was able to unblock the mechanism, the trapped vehicles were able to resume driving and the traffic slowly returned to normal.
Recently, a second-hand bus from Empresa Municipal de Transportes de Madrid experienced issues with its mechanical ramp mechanism, which is designed to facilitate access for people with reduced mobility. The driver was unable to fix the problem, forcing the user to wait for the next bus, which arrived 20 minutes later. According to an Alsa spokesman, the ramp was found to be in manual mode and did not respond to the automatic mechanism after being checked at a mechanical workshop.
