Monumental traffic jam in Ibiza

Saturday morning at around 9:30 a.m, Avenida de España in Ibiza experienced a major traffic jam due to a new bus acquired by Alsa, which got stuck in the middle of the road. The incident occurred near the Ibiza Conservatory and resulted in the collapse of the road.

According to a company spokesman who spoke to this newspaper, the recent incident on Avenida de España in Ibiza was caused by a new bus acquired by Alsa. The vehicle had stalled after the driver applied the brake, and when the driver attempted to restart the bus, it wouldn’t come out, and the driver didn’t know how to unlock it. The spokesperson explained that the bus mechanisms are new and drivers need training on the brake adaptation period. Although the bus has been sent to the workshop, the mechanic has not detected any technical issues at this time, according to the same source.

The breakdown of the Alsa bus in Ibiza caused a major traffic jam on Avenida de España, one of the city’s main avenues. The incident resulted in all the buses behind the broken down vehicle getting trapped, causing gridlock in one of the two lanes. However, cars were able to overtake the buses and avoid getting stuck in traffic. Once the driver of the stalled bus was able to unblock the mechanism, the trapped vehicles were able to resume driving and the traffic slowly returned to normal.

Recently, a second-hand bus from Empresa Municipal de Transportes de Madrid experienced issues with its mechanical ramp mechanism, which is designed to facilitate access for people with reduced mobility. The driver was unable to fix the problem, forcing the user to wait for the next bus, which arrived 20 minutes later. According to an Alsa spokesman, the ramp was found to be in manual mode and did not respond to the automatic mechanism after being checked at a mechanical workshop.
