Jade Jagger, daughter of legendary Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, was arrested last night in Ibiza for assaulting police officers. The woman, 51, lunged at officers when they arrested a man who was with her for causing an altercation in a restaurant and also attacked the officers. Both are charged with assault and are being held at the police station awaiting trial.
The events, as explained by sources familiar with the case, occurred around 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday night. Jade Jagger and a man were dining at a downtown restaurant. The defendant began to behaving violently towards the other patrons and staff of the establishmentwho ended up calling the police. Apparently, the altercation started because refused to serve him more alcoholic beverages.
Several National Police patrols arrived at the scene, but by then the man was no longer there. Several witnesses confirmed to the police officers the aggressive behavior of the defendant, and the officers officers made several raids in the area to find him. They managed to locate him a short time later, when was berating several citizens who were walking by.
When intercepted, the man lashed out at the officers, uttering insults against them in English. They tried to calm him down, but the suspect started pushing and shoving and hitting him, he was eventually reduced and arrested. Due to his condition, the police officers requested the presence of an ambulance.
It was then that Jade Jagger emerged from the doorway of a nearby building and confronted the agentsaccording to the same sources. She also insulted and pushed them. After initially calming her down, the woman again lashed out at the police officers with punches and blowsfor which she was also arrested.
