Adlib meeting in Barcelona

Ibizan designers explain how they create their collections based on sustainability and the fusion of modernity and craftsmanship

On Friday 17th November, the Adlib Ibiza brand took part in the first ‘Adlib Ibiza Summit’, a “meeting with Ibizan fashion” in Barcelona organised by the magazine Woman Madame Fígaro. The event, “served for designers K de Kosekose, Ibimoda, Estrivancus, Ibiza Stones, Elisa Pomar Ibiza and Tony Bonet, to explain how they make their collections to highlight values such as sustainability, craftsmanship and tradition”, as detailed in a note.

This first edition dedicated to Ibizan fashion in Barcelona, at Juno House, “was attended by young promises of the fashion world and also with the presence of the sector’s referents”. The note from the organization indicates that the Ibizan councilor for Economic Promotion, Municipal Cooperation and Human Resources, Maria Fajarnés, was in charge of opening this “appointment with fashion”. In her speech, “she remarked the authenticity of Eivssa fashion and its artisanal character”. “Adlib Ibiza is a fashion with more than 50 years of history marked by respect for the environment and slow fashion and characterized by its natural fabrics, embroidery and traditional lace,” added Fajarnés.

In addition to designs, in this meeting there were three round tables in which different designers of Adlib Ibiza participated. The first one, ‘Adlib Ibiza, avant-garde craftsmanship’, starred Ariadna Ferrer, designer of K de Kosekose; Antonia Riera, from Ibimoda; Sylvia Bonet, fashion advisor and stylist, and Myriam Serrano, editor-in-chief of Woman Madame Figaro Magazine.

The second table, ‘Sustainability and Innovation’, was attended by Maria Morcillo, designer of Estrivancus, Catalina Kim, creator of the firm Ibiza Stones, and Marta Coca, the director of 080 Barcelona Fashion.

In the third, ‘Design, modernity and tradition’, intervened Elisa Pomar Ibiza and Tony Bonet, as well as Kati Lanhe, Ukrainian designer and founder of the brand KM by LANGE.

All “share the same philosophy in which they do not seek to grow quickly but to create sustainable proposals, with forgotten techniques of sewing and traditional jewelry and providing, at the same time, a modern touch to the traditions resulting in truly authentic pieces,” said from the organization.
