A man, aged australian origin and 54 years of age fell Saturday night into the sea in the port of Ibiza while he was taking a picture with his cell phone.
Apparently, the man got lost, stumbled and ended up in the sea, according to a spokesperson for the Port Authority of Balearic Islands. As a result of the fall, which took place at 22.40 hours on the Martell side, the man suffered a blow to the head.
The injuries did not prevent him, however, from pulling himself out of the water using one of the ladders installed for these emergency situations.
The event aroused the curiosity of passers-by who at that hour were walking around they observed the intervention of the 061 medical staff, who came with an ambulance after receiving the 112 alert, and the port police, who went to the scene of the fall with a van.
The medics covered the injured man with a blanket and bandaged his head on the spot, and then evacuated him in the ambulance to the Hospital Can Misses, where he was treated in the emergency area. The emergency services indicated that the man was in a minor condition after suffering a bump on his head.
The victim was discharged without being admitted to the ward just a few hours after arriving at the hospital.
