Illegal parties in Ibiza mansions proliferate with impunity

Damon Hess, a British DJ, performed until yesterday morning in a 'villa party' that avoided the Activities Act

One clear fact shows the proliferation of illegal parties this summer. The Policía Local of Sant Josep had to intervene in 148 noise incidents in homes in August 2019, while last month this multiplied to 398. The figure may be much higher, as many of the villas dedicated to these events now have soundproof rooms for use as a nightclub.

In fact, in Casa Lola, the best known of all these mansions and which has remained active all this summer, the complaints from neighbours have not been about the music, but about the crowds of people that gathered on the road to es Cubells after the parties were over. And the fact that there are people on the public road after six in the morning is not an offence.

Whatsapp groups are a common way to promote this business, also those of the pirate taxi drivers, who become indispensable accomplices. The organizers resort to pirate taxis to avoid the concentration of vehicles in front of the villa that give clues.

The attendees do not usually know in advance the location where they will be able to continue the night, but they are usually summoned to a secluded place to take them to the event.
