The owner of an illegal house located on a plot in Cala Saladeta has undertaken several extension and new construction works, which tripled the initial building surface, without having the corresponding authorization, as confirmed by Diario de Ibiza. It was the inspection services of the City Council of Sant Antoni who found that the house, which had a license for renovation and extension, was being extended without matching the project.

This happened in the year 2002 and the report states that the property was extended by 200 square meters on the south side distributed over several rooms and that a porch and a storeroom were built separately from the illegal house, which were not included in the project on the basis of which the license was granted.

Works were ordered to stop on illegal house in 2003

In February 2003 the works were ordered to stop and three years later, in October 2006, a sanctioning file was opened for carrying out works without a license. These works have never been legalized nor have they been finalized. At the same time, at the end of 2006, the owner (the company Cala Salada S.L.) requested authorization to extend the existing house by 32m2 and to build a 5.6m2 porch.

In addition, it requested to build a new 355m2 house plus 89m2 of porch distributed over the first floor and second floor; a garage of 23m2 plus a 9.5m2 pergola and a 24.5m2 swimming pool. This project was never approved by the City Council of Sant Antoni, according to the open file. More than two decades later, the illegalities have still not been demolished.

An access road was also opened to the illegal house for which a building permit was requested more than two decades ago (no specific date is recorded) and which was never granted by the City Council of Sant Antoni. Even so, it was built between 1989 and 2002, according to the photographs of the Spatial Data Infrastructure of the Balearic Islands (Ideib), with an area of 450 linear meters. It is estimated that the illegal works are valued at 552,576 euros.

Then in 2014, eight years later, the municipal technical services carried out an inspection on the illegal house in which they verified that the works actually executed coincided with the endorsed project, which “was never approved by the City Council”. In 2016, a requirement was sent from the Department of Territory of the Consell de Ibiza asking Sant Antoni to resolve the request for legalization and, once resolved, to adopt the disciplinary measures in relation to the works executed without a license.
