Ibiza records the first quarter of the year with the highest population in its history

On Friday 31 March, 192,042 people were counted on the island, the highest number in the first three months since records began.

Residents of the island of Ibiza are feeling overwhelmed due to the increasing tourist activity and population.

In March, the island recorded its highest number of residents at 208,470 people, indicating a growth in tourism. Similar trends were observed in previous years, with the summer months experiencing overcrowding.

In August 2019, a record high of 334,243 people were present on the island. This continuous growth in tourism has raised concerns among residents about the island’s capacity to handle the influx of visitors.
