Ibiza is the most expensive destination in Spain to rent a vacation home this summer

The island already has an 85% occupancy rate of tourist homes

With the summer season just around the corner, many travellers are starting to plan affordable getaways to enjoy the most popular tourist destinations in Spain. This is confirmed by the holiday rental and flat portal Holidu, which through its comparative observatory analysed prices and occupancy in the Balearic Islands and the different regions of the country during the summer months. This study shows that Ibiza is the most expensive destination for holiday rentals in summer, with a price per night of 306 euros.

Tourist apartments are positioned as one of the main accommodation options for vacationers looking for everything from a luxurious villa with private pool to a cozy apartment in the heart of the city. According to data from the Holidu study and considering the summer months, Spain already reaches for the summer an occupancy rate of 82% and the average price is around 172 euros per night, which is 13% more expensive than the previous summer for the same dates.

The Spanish archipelagos are undoubtedly, according to the study of the vacation rental portal, one of the most popular destinations for national and international travelers. When it comes to the most popular islands, Menorca leads the occupancy rate, reaching 86%, followed by Mallorca and Ibiza with 85% and 83% occupancy respectively.

Ibiza is the Balearic destination where the price of holiday home rentals is the most expensive. The night is at 306 euros. In Formentera, the price is 167 euros. In Menorca it is around 139 euros and in Mallorca 176 euros. For the second consecutive year the Balearic archipelago and its turquoise waters are imposed as the most expensive Spanish tourist destination to rent a holiday home, where the stay would be around 253 euros per night for the summer season.

According to Holidu, the Community of Madrid reaches an average price of 180 euros, Basque Country 178 euros and Catalonia,161 euros. In the same price range, a night on the sunny beaches of Andalusia can cost an average of 141 euros per night. The other regions offer varied prices; Comunidad Valenciana (134 euros), Castilla-La Mancha (131 euros), Navarra (121 euros), Aragon and Cantabria (120 euros), La Rioja (119 euros) Asturias (114 euros) and Castilla y Leon (115 euros). Extremadura and Galicia offer lower prices and share the cost of a vacation rental for the 105 euros per night. Finally the Canary archipelago is positioned as the most convenient Spanish tourist destination of the season for a price that reaches 104 euros per night.
