Ibiza boasts two of Spain’s most expensive areas for home buying

The price to buy a house in these places exceeds 7,000 euros per square metre

The neighborhoods of Jesus, located in the municipality of Santa Eulària, y Marina Botafoc-Platja de Talamancain Ibiza, are among the 20 most expensive neighborhoods in Spain to buy a home, according to Fotocasa.

This is the result of the analysis of the country’s neighborhoods carried out by the real estate portal, which states that these two areas of Ibiza exceed 7,000 euros per square meter (euros/m2).

The neighborhood of Jesus has a price of 7,515 euros/m2 and Marina Botafoc-Platja de Talamanca, 7,251 euros/m2, as reported by Fotocasa this Wednesday in a press release.

In the Balearic Islands it is followed by Cas Català-Illetes in Calvià, with 7,376 euros/m2, and Sant Nicolau, with 7,022 euros/m2.

On the other hand, in the municipality of Sant Josep, the area of Sant Agustí-Cala de Bou reaches 4,967 euros/m2 and in Sant Antoni the price reaches 4,544 euros/m2.

Palma

Palm for its part is positioned as one of the most expensive municipalities of the Balearic Islands and has several neighborhoods that exceed 6,000 euros/m2. This is the case of Son Espanyolet, La Bonanova and Sant Agustí, where the square meter rises to 6,303 euros/m2, 6,250 euros/m2 and 6,158 euros/m2, respectively.

In the same municipality, the portal highlights the year-on-year increases registered in the neighborhoods of Son Armadans (5,661 euros/m2), with a growth of 17.5 percent, Plaça de Toros (3,423 euros/m2), with an increase of 27.7 percent, and Es Rafal Vell (2,982 euros/m2), with a rise of 18.2 percent.

In Alcúdia and Pollença the most expensive neighborhoods, which are Port d’Alcúdia-Platja d’Alcúdia and Port de Pollença, respectively, reach almost 4,000 euros/m2.

On the other hand, in Menorca there has been a growth in Ciutadella, where it reaches 2,858 euros/m2, with an increase of 26.1 percent.

The most expensive neighborhoods in Spain

In Spain as a whole, Madrid is positioned as one of the most expensive cities in Spain to buy a home. The Castellana and Recoletos neighborhoods reach a price of 10,397 euros/m2 and 10,141 euros/m2, respectively, and are the two neighborhoods with the highest price per square meter in the country.

Meanwhile, the neighborhood of El Velerín de Málagawith 10,068 euros/m2, is the third most expensive. Thus, the prices of the neighborhoods with the highest price in Spain quadruple the national average, which stood at 2,215 euros/m2 in January.

Among the most expensive neighborhoods in the country are also the Madrid neighborhoods of Lista (8,868 euros/m2), Goya (8,341 euros/m2), Almagro (8,070 euros/m2) and Sol (7,867 euros/m2). They are followed by Área Romántica (7,947 euros/m2), in the center of San Sebastián, and Justicia-Chueca (7,754 euros/m2), in Madrid, which complete the list of the ten most expensive neighborhoods to buy a home in Spain.
