The Comissió de Festes de sa Raval des Pa i Oli, as the town of Sant Francesc was formerly known, has made public its programme of festivities with two days of activities.
Saturday, December 2between 4.30 p.m. and 7 p.m. it will be the time for the little ones with the miniflower which will be set up in the tent at the sa Senieta parking lot. There there will be bouncy castles, face painting and ephemeral tattoos.
Undoubtedly one of the cultural proposals the most interesting is the scenic piece, ‘No paradise under your seat’which will be performed that day, at 8.30 p.m., in the local cultural hall (cinema). The play is by Pilar Aldea and is produced by Trampolí Mecànic.
A little later, at 10 pm, it is proposed, also in the tent of Sa Senieta, sa Nostra Flower’in which different local djs will play until the early hours of the morning.
The big day of Sant Francesc Xavieron Sunday, December 3, is dotted with gastronomy. At 10 a.m., the Associació Gastronómica es Forn will be offering fried octopusin the Ses Eres gardenall at popular prices.
At 12 noon it will be time for the mass in honor of the patron saint of the town with the Polyphonic Choir of Sant Francesc. It will be followed by the procession and the subsequent demonstration of folkloric dance with Es Pastorells and Es Xacoters.
The menu of the day continues at 2:30 p.m. with a matanzas ricein the tent, also from the es Forn Association. The festive day will end in the Jardí de ses Eres with the traditional torrada de ses Eres sobrasada and xulla around some embers, which becomes a meeting point for neighbors and friends.
