Firefighters rescue 91-year-old woman in Ibiza through balcony entry

The elderly woman suffered a fall and her carer was unable to enter the house as she had left her keys behind

This morning at 9.32 a.m., a team of Ibiza firefighters went to a home in Vila where an elderly woman, aged 91, had fallen and was in need of assistance.

The neighbor was in the care of her caregiver, who, according to the Island Park, was outside the house and could not access because she had forgotten the key that opens the front door.

Faced with this situation, the worker contacted the 112 emergency services, who notified the firefighters to help the woman, who was alone inside the house.

A team of the emergency corps formed by three firefighters, a foreman, who were transferred in two vehicles, a light vehicle and a ladder truckwent to the house, located in San Cristòfol street.

Firefighters accessed the interior of the property through one of the balconies to avoid having to break down the front door and thus cause serious damage, as explained from the Island Park, and so that the 061 medical staff could enter and examine the state of health of the neighbor. In addition, a patrol of the municipal police of Vila also went to the scene.

The health workers found that the woman had no injuries from the fall and that she was in good health, so she did not have to be taken to hospital, reported the 061.

The Ibiza firefighters helped her to stand up and at around 10.15 a.m. the service was terminated at the house, according to the emergency services.
