A fire destroys the window of a clothing store in the Marina

The Consell de Ibiza fire brigade put out a fire early this morning in a shop window in a clothing shop in the Marina district. According to the Fire Department, the fire started at 4.30 am in the display window that overlooks the main façade of the shop, located on Carrer d’Enmig. It was the neighbours who alerted that smoke was coming out of the ground floor, located at number 8.

The flames started on the mannequins and spread through the shop window, burning the clothes that were exposed. Everything points to the fact that it could have been intentional.

A fire brigade was sent to the site of the fire fire truck and four firefighters, who carried out extinguishing tasks with water line and ventilated the premises. Local Police of Ibiza also attended, which has opened an investigation to clarify the causes of the fire.

This morning shopkeepers in the area have reported what had happened to those responsible for the business, who, apparently, this morning have already spoken to the municipal agents. People in the neighborhood have explained to this newspaper that the security cameras that some businesses have only point to their own terrace and the entrance to the premises, but not to the street as such. In any case, they applaud the quick action of the firefighters, who prevented the flames from spreading.

At around 11 a.m., with the store closed and sealed by the Local Police, there was still a certain smell of burning. “I arrived around seven in the morning and it stank,” commented a neighbor. The consequences of the fire can also be seen on the outside, as part of the door and its surroundings are blackened.

In one of the images released by the firefighters, it can be seen that there are items of clothing inside the premises that have been saved or, at most, have been affected by the smoke, but have not burned.
