An elderly man of 77 years is the first casualty of heat stroke on Mallorca. The death occurred on Sunday afternoon in Camí Fondo. The victim took off his shirt before passing away.
The incident occurred about a 4:45pm on Sunday in Camí Fondo. A 77 year old man was walking in the area when he began to feel the effects of heat stroke. In fact he took off his shirt before collapsing and falling into the Torrent Gros.
A man who was doing sport happened to pass by and saw the unconscious man. The athlete raised the alarm and alerted the emergency services that there was an unconscious man.
Policía Nacional confirm heat stroke
Then the Ib-salut health care quickly went to the scene. The doctors could do nothing for the man and confirmed his death. The cause, according to all indications, was heat stroke. Agents from the Homicide Group of the Policía Nacional also arrived to investigate the cause of death. The visual inspection corroborated the version of the health workers. The victim had removed his shirt shortly before his death, due to the sudden rise in body temperature, compatible with heat stroke.
