Ibiza cook collects signatures to slow traffic in Cala de Bou after dog accident

The lack of traffic control measures on the Cala de Bou road and the recklessness of a driver have caused Shiro’s deatha dog that has been run over. His owner, Matias Trelis, who works as a cook in a restaurant in Ibiza, has published a petition of signatures through Change.org to ask the City Council of Sant Josep more security in the area.

Matías explains on the Change.org platform that, when the Cala de Bou road was asphalted, the speed-limiting speed bumps were removed “and the Town Hall has not installed them again”. “Cars do not respect the limits, and circulate like crazy”, he details. In addition, he also explains that the curbs are at the same level as the road, “so the cars get on the sidewalks.” “This endangers not only our pets, but also our children and neighbors,” states Trellis, who claims in her public complaint that the driver “was driving faster than allowed in a residential area.”

For this reason, Matías Trelis, assures that “it is crucial that the speed bumps be reinstalled as soon as possible to guarantee safety.” “Enough of cars that go like crazy and do not respect anything,” writes the chef, broken with grief at the death of Shiro, to whom he says a few words of farewell: “It was not yet your time, but you have been a great dog and you will continue to be. Now, rest in peace, Super Shiro”.
