The Consell approves an agreement to provide 500,000 euros to Don Pepe residents

The president, Vicent Marí, emphasizes that the assistance is "exceptional and transitory" until the crisis with the Don Pepe building in the es Codolar neighborhood, which was evicted last week, is addressed

The Consell de Ibiza announced yesterday that the agreement with the City Council of Sant Josep for the payment of 500,000 euros to mitigate the impact of eviction among inhabitants of one of the two buildings that comprise the Don Pepe Apartments in es Codolar had been approved.

According to a press release from the institution, the approval of this agreement by the institution’s Consell Executiu “fulfills the commitment made with the Consistory and the neighbors themselves on 24 November, and the Consell becomes the first institution that allocates a supramunicipal item to help those affected in these difficult times.”

In the same message, Vicent Mar, president of Ibiza’s first institution, stated that “this aid at this time should help the 50 families celebrate a Christmas as calmly as possible, knowing that they can cover any expenses coming from the eviction, such as the payment of rent, storage, or bank charges.”
