Party on flight to Ibiza: British tourists bring the celebration onboard

Mobile phones blaring music, litres of alcohol in duty free bags and 'preparty' in the airport terminal before boarding a flight to the island from Britain.

A group of nearly 200 British tourists from Manchester arrive at Ibiza airport eager to party. Even before their flight lands, they start singing and chanting the lyrics to the Vengaboys‘ hit song, “We’re going to Ibiza,” recording the moment on their mobile phones (view the video).

The cabin is still dark, but the enthusiastic tourists continue their off-key singing and loud cheering. The party atmosphere had already started hours earlier, with many of them consuming alcohol and enjoying themselves at the airport. The terminal is filled with the sound of music playing from speakers attached to someone’s cellphone. The contagious behavior spreads, and soon multiple groups are dancing and waiting to board the plane. Some passengers are already tipsy and in a festive mood, having indulged in drinks and celebrations during the pre-party at the airport. The festive atmosphere continues on the plane, with passengers singing, dancing, and taking selfies throughout the flight. The flight attendants and crew are accustomed to such behavior and pay little attention.

The beverage carts on the plane quickly run out of drinks, as the passengers eagerly order and consume them. The flight is filled with constant noise, laughter, and partying, even in the bathroom queues and seats. The landing is met with excitement and celebration, with the purser joining in the festivities, encouraging everyone to sing and dance as they arrive in Ibiza.
