While buying bananas for his just-over-a-year-old grandson at a supermarket in es Viver, the shopper stumbled upon an unexpected surprise. As he reached out to grab a bunch of fruit, he noticed some movement among the bananas. Upon closer inspection, he discovered a lizard! Without hesitation, a nearby neighbor from Platja d’en Bossa pulled out her cell phone to snap a photo of the little reptile, which was clinging tightly to one of the bananas. Although the woman only managed to capture the lizard’s eyes and tail in the picture, the body was concealed behind the mountain of fruit that had recently arrived from the Canary Islands.

As the customer spotted the small black ‘dragon’, just a few centimeters long, among the fruit in the store, they quickly alerted one of the employees in the area. In response, a small commotion ensued, and the employee promptly cautioned everyone to avoid touching the creature if they happened to come across it.

Upon first glance, the creature appears to be a typical gecko, which is commonly referred to as a dragon in the area. However, its dark coloration sets it apart from the geckos that are typically found on the island.
