The best plans this weekend in Ibiza and Formentera

Ibiza celebrates Santa Cecilia and the day of Flamenco in style

This weekend is packed with a wide variety of activities for those who don’t like to be bored. One of the highlights of these four days is the early celebration of Saint Cecilia’s Day with a concert on Saturday at 7 pm in Can Ventosa by the Cor and the Banda Simfònica Ciutat d’Eivissa (Ibiza Symphony Band) to benefit Addif. The following day, the Orquestra Simfònica Ciutat d’Eivissa, conducted by Fernando Marina, will take to the stage of this Vila auditorium.

The island will also commemorate the flamenco Day with two shows at the Auditori Caló de s’Oli, in Cala de Bou. The first is scheduled for Saturday at 8 pm and will star Manuel Márquez and the second, the next day at the same time, will be given by students of the Are-T academy.

On the other hand, on Friday at Can Ventosa ten artists, among them the soprano Lucía Herranz, the pianist Elvira Ramón and the dancer Rocío Osuna, will make a journey through the life and the musical facet of Federico García Lorca with the montage ‘Simply Lorca‘.

One day earlier, this Thursday, Santa Gertrudis will celebrate its big day. In addition, a new conference will take place in Sa Nostra Sala of the Curs Eivissenc de Cultura in which Maria Nicolau Rocabayera will talk about Catalan cuisine.

Other interesting proposals are the guided tour to es Culleram organized on Saturday by the MAEF and for the little ones, Cuidinfants, which will take place the same day in Santa Eulària from 11 am.

And nothing better than concluding the week with laughter, in this case with the show of ‘Los Cuñaos’, which will close in the auditorium of Cas Serres the XIV of the Festival of Humor of Ibiza.
