The best plans for the weekend in Ibiza and Formentera

From a meeting of graffiti artists in Ibiza to the patron saint festivities of Santa Agnès de Corona

These days there is no shortage of plans in Ibiza and Formentera to occupy your free time. There is something for everyone. Highlights include the start of the Santa Agnès patron saint festivities, which this Sunday will celebrate its big day with mass, procession and ball pagès at midday and in the evening, starting at 7 pm, with a night devoted to rock music.

Precisely the music will be one of the great protagonists of this January 21 on the island, because in addition to the Festa Rock Nights in Corona, in Ibiza there are two other noteworthy events: the concert of the Ciutat d’Eivissa Symphonic Band conducted this time by Vicente Mendoza and Damián Boluda, at 12 noon in Can Ventosa, and the I Trobada Coral de l’Illa d’Eivissa (1st Choral Trobada of the Island of Ibiza)which will take place at 6 p.m. at the Ibiza Fairgrounds.

This weekend, in addition, there are theatrical proposals, like the ‘Streaming extrem’by Vicent Tur and l’Antònima Teatre, this Friday at 8.30 p.m. in the auditorium of Cas Serres or the one of ‘Trampes de Zorros’ (Fox Traps)by Joan Maria Vidal, on Saturday at 8 pm at Can Ventosa.

The same day and time at the Teatro España of Santa Eulària the well known choreographer and dancer Nur Banu will present her new show ‘Ya Salam. Dansant per la pau’ (Dancing for peace)organized by Can Planeta.

In terms of artistic proposals, it is worth mentioning the I Meeting of graffiti artists that the City Council of Ibiza has organized in the Plaza of Spain in Dalt Vila this Saturday at 10 am.

Those who are interested in discovering what films were shot in Sant Antoni during the twentieth century and remember how it was and how people lived in this municipality at that time, have this Friday morning (10.30 am) a very interesting activity entitled ‘Cinema and memory’, which includes lecture and discussion, with the participation of filmmaker Enrique Villalonga and psychologist Ana Serapio. It will be held at the Cervantes Cultural Center of Sant Antoni.
