Top picks for Carnival weekend on Ibiza and Formentera

Carnival parades and festivities are the focus of the entertainment programme for the coming days on the Pitiüses Islands

It’s Carnival and you can feel it in the air from Thursday, with the Dijous Llarder festival in Vila, and until next Wednesday, with the burial of the sardine, so we are extending this agenda until that day.

In between there are parties and many Carnival rúas, both the general ones and those programmed by many educational centers. Of the former, there are six: Sant Josep and the city of Ibiza have programmed their carnival parades on Saturday, Formentera and Sant Joan on Sunday and Sant Antoni and Santa Eulària on Tuesday.

The program is full, but not completely, because the activities of the festivities of the patron saints of Santa Eulària, Sant Antoni and Santa Agnès continue. In the Villa del Rio there is a weekend with dozens of concerts in different venues of the town, so that there is no lack of good atmosphere.

Meanwhile, in Santa Agnès they have one of the main landmarks of their festivities, the sofrit pagès’ contestthe traditional Ibizan dish, which will take place on Saturday in the parking lot.

In addition, there are conferences, cinema, storytelling, excursions… the presentation of the eivissa magazine of the IEE by Josep Lluís Carod Rovira or a new edition of the Fun & Trucks sunday in Jesus.
