The president of the Balearic Government, Francina Armengol, said on Monday that any relaxation in the use of masks is a discussion to be held at the technical and political level, as well as a decision that will have to be taken “collaboratively and based on the impact on each community”.
“In the Balearic Islands we are not yet at the point of deciding to remove masks,” the president said in statements to the media.
Armengol affirmed that the Government is continuing “a slow and rigorous de-escalation”. “ As soon as it is possible we will start removing masks outside ,” she added, although she warned that “at the moment we are not there yet.”
She pointed out that “education” it is very important in this regard: “We will learn to have the masks with us, where to wear them and where not to, I think that’s what we are moving towards”.
