National Police of the municipality of Ibiza have arrested a 26-year-old man as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of injury and sexual assault, the police force reported in a note, for knocking down a young woman with a strong blow to her backside and assaulting her friend when she tried to defend her after falling to the ground.
The facts, describes the communiqué, occurred in the early morning of thursday, May 18 when National Police officers went to a discotheque in Ibiza after being alerted by 091 that the security guards were holding a German man, who had sexually assaulted a young woman who was with a friend in the disco.
Upon arrival, the victims were already being assisted by the club’s medical team. The officers interviewed the victims and the security personnel who were holding the alleged assailant. The security guards gave testimonyafter seeing how the arrested man “had given a strong slap on the butt to one of the girls to the point that she fell to the ground and, after this, assaulted her friend who had tried to defend her,” the note says. The officers arrested the man and took him to the police station.
Agents of the UFAM group of the National Police took charge of the investigation to determine the details of what happened. Finally, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the judicial authority charged with two offenses, one of sexual assault and one of battery.
