The weather in Ibiza and Formentera will be altered this week by the arrival of a polar front that will put an end to the long anticyclone of the summer of San Martín, which is present on the island these days. According to the State Meteorological Agency, “notable drops” in temperatures are expected, which is why it is activating alerts for the next few days.
This Monday, November 20, the temperatures will suffer a slight decrease in the Pitiusas, with minimum and maximum temperatures of 11 and 20 degrees. The wind will be light from the west.
The first effects of the polar front will begin to be felt on Tuesday, November 21. According to the Aemetthe temperatures will drop, especially during the daytime and reaching the minimum at the end of the day. Minimum and maximum temperatures of 11 and 18 degrees are expected. The rain will arrive on Wednesday with a 90% probability of precipitation from midnight to 12 noon compared to only 20% expected for this Tuesday in the Pitiusas.
The wind will be moderate, increasing at night in the Pitiusas where it will be activated the yellow alert for coastal phenomena.
The worst of the polar front, for Wednesday, November 22
The polar front in the Pitiusas will bring strong winds this Wednesday and will maintain the temperature drop (11 and 20 degrees). The Aemet in the Pitiusas activates for this day the yellow alert for maximum waves of three meters in height with wind from the north from 45 to 55 km/h (force 6 to 7).
The snow elevation will drop to 1,300 meters.
The State Meteorological Agency forecasts for Thursday, November 23 that the cloudy intervals with low probability of rain the weather will be partly cloudy in the morning. Temperatures will be little changed.
For Friday 24 the Aemet expects in the Pitiusas Islands clear skies and rising temperatures.
