The Directorate General for Energy and Climate Change has called for one million euros to promote electric micro-mobility in the Balearic Islands with maximum grants of 200 euros for the purchase of electric scooters and up to 600 euros for electric bicycles. These grants may be applied for from this Friday until July 31.

Applications for this subsidy, which comes from the framework of the tax on tourist stays in the Balearic Islands (ITS), must be submitted telematically through the web form http://energia.caib.catthe Conselleria de Transiciรณn Energรฉtica, Sectores Productivos y Memoria Democrรกtica (Energy Transition, Productive Sectors and Democratic Memory Department) has detailed in a note.

Requirements

Natural persons of legal age residing in the Balearic Islands who do not use the personal mobility vehicle for an economic activity by which they offer goods and services on the market may be beneficiaries of this aid.

The electric bicycles shall have the status of be electric pedal assist bicyclesequipped with an auxiliary electric motor, which may not be propelled exclusively by means of such motor.

In addition, the maximum speed of the motorized vehicle must be 25 km/h, have front and rear lighting and a minimum range of 25 km. The bicycle must be delivered with an approved helmet, a reflective vest and a diptych/triptych with the main rules of use and circulation, and must be equipped with insurance covering civil liability for a minimum amount of 200,000 euros, the Conselleria has specified.

On the other hand, the electric scooters shall be propelled exclusively by electric motor with an integrated 230 V battery system and charger, be single-seater and if equipped with a saddle, have a self-balancing system. These vehicles shall have two wheels and front and rear lighting.

The minimum autonomy of the scooter shall be 15 km and the speed it can reach shall be between 6 and 25 km. A homologated helmet, a reflective vest and a diptych/triptych with the main rules of use and circulation must be delivered with the scooter.

In addition, it must have insurance covering civil liability for a minimum amount of 200,000 euros.

Up to 50%

The amount of the aid for the purchase of an electric bicycle shall be 50% of its cost eligible with a maximum aid of 600 and 900 euros in the case of bicycles adapted to persons with reduced mobility.

The amount of aid for the purchase of an electric scooter will be 50% of its eligible cost, with a maximum aid amount of 200 and 275 euros in the case of scooters adapted for persons with reduced mobility.

The acquisition cost of the electric bicycle may not exceed 2,000 euros, except for bicycles adapted for persons with reduced mobility which may be up to โ‚ฌ3,000.

The acquisition cost of the electric scooter may not exceed 700 eurosexcept for scooters adapted for persons with reduced mobility which may be up to 1,000 euros.

In any case, the final aid to be received by the applicant may not exceed the total eligible cost of the action actually carried out, duly justified.
