Naraya Escrivá, Iris Cardona, Estela Riera, Alba Soriano, and Larisa Ioana are students of the IES Marc Ferrer’s Bachillerato (high school) in art. Since yesterday, they have been displaying works that are the result of the efforts of their teachers, Enric Riera and Paco Peris.
“This has a sense, we are facing a war situation and it is as if the main figures of the painting that shows us the ‘Guernica’ had escaped to come to the present day,” say Naraya and Iris of their attention-grabbing painting inspired by Picasso’s “Guernica”. “It’s to raise awareness that there are still wars today, even if we don’t see them,” she emphasises, in case it wasn’t evident.
The artistic bachelors, according to this young woman who wants to study interior design, “is an opportunity to experience the world through different eyes.” Iris stated emphatically that she wishes to pursue Fine Arts in order to become a “restorer of works of art.” Estela steps in to claim she’ll study “fashion design,” while Alba admits, “I’m not sure yet.”
They all put out their best efforts and sensitivity since they have now realised that “we have learned to think differently, by ourselves.”
