The councillor for Tourism Planning and the Fight against Intrusion, Mariano Juan, has revealed that the Consell, the local councils and the Island Directorate of the General State Administration in Ibiza and Formentera have been meeting “discreetly” for weeks to deal with the problem of illegal parties. “We have a clear objective: that Ibiza’s health situation is not harmed by these illegal parties organised by pirates, in many cases professionals and, in most cases, foreigners,” the councillor stressed at a press conference.
As a result of the reports drawn up so far and the police investigations, it is clear that this underground leisure industry is controlled by “organised groups that come from outside and that move a lot of money”, said the representative of the Consell.

While in previous years people paid at the time of entering the party, now the organisers resort to social networks and charge in advance to send the location of the houses at the last minute. “Clients are attracted when they are looking for a place to continue after the last drink in a tourist establishment”.
“They are changing the way they work and it is a permanent struggle,” Juan stressed. In this sense, he was particularly critical of the messages of “politicians who come out saying that nothing can be done at home”. “It seems that they are advising offenders on how they should act and what they should say so that the police cannot do their job”, he lamented.
