The dj and producer Blond:ish will be the headliner of his first Ibiza residency with ‘Abracadabra’ at Pacha Ibiza for eleven weeks, every Wednesday, from May 21 to July 30, 2025.
Blond:ish is the first female resident in the history of Pacha Ibiza. “She is known for taking her fans on a journey into the Happy Happy World through her unparalleled energy and music,” the cherry club reports in a statement.
Blond:ish will release her new album ‘Never Walk Alone’ on February 14, 2025 via Insomniac Records, a work she describes as “music with intention”.
“This residency is an extension of Abracadabra, a grassroots movement, a community and a foundation with a sustainable approach,” they explain from Pacha Ibiza. It is a party that has toured major cities around the world and filled rooms with more than 4,000 people. Its community, a close group of loyal music lovers, never misses a single event, the note highlights.
“I have been coming to Ibiza since I was 17 years old, so you can imagine what it means to me to have a residency here and bring something unique to the island. Energy is everything and I can guarantee that we will bring a fresh energy to the island. It’s something you need to experience in person on Wednesdays at Pacha Ibiza with Abracadabra,” says Blond:ish.
who is Blond:ish?
Vivie-ann Bakos (1981), known professionally as Blond:ish, is a Canadian music producer and DJ. An environmental activist, she founded the non-profit charity Bye Bye Plastics to eliminate single-use plastics from music venues and events.
Blond:ish was originally a duo formed by Bakos and Anstascia D’Elene Corniere. But Corniere parted ways with the project in 2019.
In 2007 Corniere and Bakos met at the Winter Music Conference . The duo began performing in 2008 while running and DJing their residency called Blond:ish at Montreal’s Cherry Nightclub. Attendees and fans began referring to the duo by the name Blond:ish during these events.
In 2010 the duo moved from Montreal to London to focus more on music production and immerse himself in the London music scene.
Two years later Blond:ish released the ‘Lonely Days’ EP on Noir Music. After this release they were signed to Kompakt label boss Michael Mayer, who released their next EP, ‘Lovers in Limbo’, that same year.
Depeche Mode, Madonna and Burning Man
In 2013 the duo joined Get Physical Music, where they released their ‘Strange Attractions’ EP with Thomas Gandey. As a result of their success, Blond:ish was commissioned to produce remixes for Depeche Modepete Tong, Maya Jane Coles, Kate Simko and WhoMadeWho.
From 2013 to 2014, the duo produced their next two Kompakt EPs , ‘Inward Visions’ and ‘Wunderkammer’ from a makeshift studio near the Mayan temples of Tulum (Mexico).
In 2015 BLOND:ISH released their first album, ‘Welcome to the Present’ , under Kompakt.
On April 16, 2016, the duo premiered their debut ‘Essential Mix’ on BBC Radio 1, recorded in Tulum.
Blond:ish has released music on labels such as Get Physical, Kompakt, Leftroom and Noir. In 2017 she created her own record label Abracadabra, a self-described “female-driven collective” for music and art, which has given Blond:ish the opportunity to collaborate with various artists and explore creative endeavors within the electronic music landscape.
The label organized an Abracadabra stage at Tomorrowland in 2018, who took possession of the LEAF stage during both Saturdays of the festival.
In 2020 the label launched the Abracadabra TV channel on Twitch to stream live music performances and “self-love programming” during the height of the confinement by covid.
The single ‘Waves’ was nominated for the Juno Award for underground dance single of the year at the 2022 Juno Awards. He received a second nomination in the same category at the 2023 Juno Awards for ‘Aye Aye’.
Blond:ish has played at festivals and events such as Flying Circus, SXMusic Festival, Symbiosis Gathering, the BPM Festival, ENTER, Mysteryland, Ultra Music Festival and Wisdom of the Glove, Achoes from Agartha, Cercle, as well as the Burning Man.
Under the Abracadabra label, he released a remix of ‘Sorry ‘, which features Madonna.
