Another corpse found on a beach in Formentera

The Guardia Civil has confirmed this Monday the discovery of another body on a beach in Formentera. It is the fourth corpse that appears so far this year in some coastal area of the island.

As reported by the Armed Formentera Police, a citizen found the body of an unidentified male and in an advanced state of decomposition and immediately alerted the police.

The GEAS went to the site to retrieve the remains and now autopsy should provide more information about the deceased.

During the past month of January, up to three more bodies were also found on the beaches of Formentera and it is not ruled out that they may be migrants who have died during a crossing.

On January 7, the Judicial Police of the Civil Guard confirmed the discovery of two bodies on the beach at es Cavall d’en Borràs. Eight days later, the body of a lifeless man was found in the sa Torreta beach on the islet of s’Espalmador.
