The 6 best beaches in Ibiza to visit with kids

Easy beache access and a shady area are necessary to go for a dip with the little ones.

Ibiza is known worldwide for its wonderful beaches. In addition to having spectacular locations to photograph or simply to enjoy the quality of the sea and the coves, the island also has great sandy beaches which are perfect to have an unforgettable day with the littlest ones of the family.

The requirements that these beaches have to meet are: to be shallow, so that children can swim safely; shade, so that when they get out of the water they can be protected from the sun; sandy, so that they can walk easily without hurting their feet or slipping on dangerous wet rocks; and to a lifeguard service, since, although you should never lose sight of the little ones, a lifeguard presence is essential. It will also make life easier for families if access to the bathing area is easy, with parking nearby.

Ses Salines beach

This beach is ideal to visit with little ones. It’s very long (1,400 meters), is shallow for upto several meters (the average does not usually exceed 170 centimeters at more than 50 meters from the shore), there is parking, shade with pine trees and a lifeguard service. It is located in the municipality of Sant Josep.

It is one of the best known beaches of Ibiza and its water is turquoise blue. It is inside the Natural Park of ses Salines and there is a nice walk along the shore that kids can also enjoy.

Santa Eulària beach

This is an urban beach, as it is located in the center of the town. In addition, it is one of the few beaches of the Balearic Islands in which smoking is prohibited.

There is a lifeguard service, it’s easily accessibley and has bathing facilities for people with reduced mobility. There is a skate rental service and you can practice water sports.

It is an ideal beach for children and just a short walk away you can go to the mouth of the river to feed the ducks.

Cala Bassa

This Sant Josep beach is 250 meters long and surrounded by a immense pine forest, perfect to take shelter from the intense sun.

Characterized by its white sand and the rocky area at one end that resembles a lunar landscape.

Water sports can be practised here and it is highly recommended for families.

It is one of the most accessible coves on Ibiza, and can be accessed from any point on the island by car, bus or boat.

The longest beach of the island of Ibiza and features an aray of services. It begins in the center of Ibiza (ses Figueretes) and ends right in the ses Salines Natural Park (Sant Josep).

There are many beach clubs but there are quieter areas to enjoy with the little ones. Being a very wide beach the children can run and enjoy the sand.

This beach offers numerous activities, excursions and water sports.

Cala de Sant Vicent

This 320-metre long and 40-metre wide beach is in the municipality of Sant Joan, very close to the village of Sant Vicent, from where you can see the islet of Tagomago.

It is a very family-friendly beach, where many islanders go, especially on Sundays, as there are numerous restaurants along the promenade.

Kids will love it and will even make new friends.

Arriving at this beach is spectacular for the views that can be enjoyed from the road.

Talamanca

This beach is located in Ibiza. It is very extensive (it has 900 meters) with various organised activities.

It has all the facilities for children and has wooden walkways that facilitate access for people with reduced mobility and prams. There are also public toilets and showers.

In high season parking becomes difficult (as on most of the island), so it is best to go early in the morning ensure a park.
