After testing positive for covid, 54 cruise ship crew members disembark in Mallorca

Those infected with covid have been transported to Bellver's 'bridge hotel.'

A total of 54 crew members from a cruise ship set to dock in Palma on Thursday had to disembark after testing positive for coronavirus during a regular health check.

According to certified sources from the Government Delegation in the Balearic Islands to Europa Press, no passengers on the ship were harmed as a result of the ‘bubble groups’ method.

Furthermore, all professionals who tested positive are asymptomatic or have minimal symptoms and have been relocated to the ‘bridge hotel’ Bellver, where they will be quarantined.

After a routine health check, the 54 crew members that disembarked at the port tested positive in covid

The cruise ship resumed its journey after the stop and subsequent disembarkation of the affected staff members.

This is the second time this month that a cruise ship has disembarked passengers afflicted with covid in Palma. On January 7, fifteen people were forced to disembark after being found to be infected. Four Mallorcan passengers and eleven members of the crew of the cruise ship ‘MSC Grandiosa’ were infected by an epidemic that had been spotted days previously.
