Nadal regains the number 2 in the world rankings

The Spaniard overtakes Medvedev and is now 2,000 points behind Djokovic - The following Spaniards are Bautista and Carreño, in 11th and 12th positions

Spanish tennis player Rafa Nadal has regained the number two ATP world ranking after winning his twelfth title at the Godó, relegating the Russian Daniil Medvedev to third place in a ranking that continues to be led by Serbian Novak Djokovic.

Six weeks after Medvedev displaced him at number three, Nadal has returned the play to the Russian after beating the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final of the Barcelona tournament and winning his first title of the year.

As a result, the Spaniard is now 110 points ahead of Medvedev and is just over 2,000 points behind Djokovic, whose leadership remains comfortable despite his discreet results in Monte Carlo and Belgrade, where he did not reach the final.

In addition, the rest of the Top 10 remains unchanged, followed by Roberto Bautista (11th) and Pablo Carreño (12th), who climbed one position after his semi-final at the Godó. Spanish tennis maintains a total of 11 players in the world’s top 100.
