2.7 million green light for Ibiza’s Marina Sustainability Plan

The aim of this investment is to boost activity in the tourism sector outside the high season by restoring urban spaces, protecting heritage and improving accessibility, as is the case with Ibiza's Marina

The government announced yesterday that it has given the green light to the investment of 2.7 million euros in the Tourism Sustainability Plan for Ibiza’s Marina-Dalt Vila, which was selected, along with 21 other projects, by the Tourism Sector Conference last July.

The Council of Ministers authorised the signing of the agreements with the autonomous communities and local bodies that collaborate in the rollout of the different plans to be implemented in the various areas, with an overall budget of 59,103,782.03 million euros.

The Secretary of State for Tourism will soon sign the agreement with the Balearic Islands Tourism Strategy Agency and Ibiza Town Hall to develop this project, the aim of which is to boost tourist activity outside the high season by restoring urban spaces, protecting heritage and improving accessibility.

According to the Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Reyes Maroto, “this investment is aimed at helping our tourist destinations move towards a more sustainable development model, at a time when sustainability has become a key factor in competitiveness”.

“This investment aims to help our tourist destinations move towards a model of sustainable development”, explains the minister.
