The Policía Nacional in Ibiza arrested the man after a patrol from the Local Citizen Security Brigade spotted him at around 8.30pm on August 24 in the ses Figueretes neighbourhood.

According to the police, the man became visibly nervous and evasive after noticing the officers, prompting them to pay closer attention to his movements.

He then reportedly crossed the street hurriedly and ran away on foot through ses Figueretes. During the pursuit, the suspect headed towards the entrance of a residential building opposite the area where the officers had intervened.

He allegedly attempted to gain access to the building using a card to open the door, apparently in an effort to hide from the police.

Almost 50 MDMA pills found during the arrest

Officers from the Grupo Operativo de Respuesta (GOR) of the Ibiza National Police eventually caught up with the suspect.

During the search, police reportedly seized almost 50 MDMA pills, commonly known as ecstasy, along with more than 10 doses of heroin.

Officers also found more than 10 grams of marijuana and hashish, as well as a further 10 grams of crack cocaine.

Following the discovery of the different controlled substances, the man was arrested on suspicion of a public health offence.

Police investigation into drug distribution in Ibiza

The suspect was subsequently placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority, where the investigation will continue and the relevant legal proceedings will be carried out.

Police regularly carry out these operations in different parts of Ibiza city, targeting the possession, trafficking and distribution of illegal drugs.
