The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued a yellow alert for wind and coastal phenomena in Ibiza and Formentera for this Thursday, 22 January, a day marked by stronger winds and deteriorating sea conditions. Aemet has also warned that another alert for rough seas will be activated on Saturday in the Pitiusas.
According to the forecast, the wind warning will be in force from midnight until 11.59 on Thursday, with maximum gusts of up to 70 kilometres per hour from the south-west and west. At the same time, Aemet is maintaining a yellow warning for coastal phenomena during the same period. Winds of between 50 and 60 kilometres per hour, force 7, are expected from the south-west and west, accompanied by waves of up to three metres.

As for weather conditions, Thursday will start with cloudy intervals and a chance of rain during the morning, which is expected to decrease significantly from midday, when clearer and more stable weather is forecast. Temperatures will range between 10 and 16 degrees Celsius, with moderate to strong winds during the first half of the day.
Friday will see a mix of cloud and sunny spells, with a 60% chance of precipitation in the early hours and gradual improvement as the day progresses. Temperatures will reach highs of up to 17 degrees, although winds will remain noticeable, with gusts of up to 40 kilometres per hour.
Weekend weather: a new yellow alert
Instability is expected to return with greater intensity on Saturday, when Aemet forecasts a high probability of showers and thunderstorms, along with a new yellow warning for coastal phenomena in force between 4.00 and 14.59. During this period, westerly winds of 50 to 60 kilometres per hour, force 7, and waves of up to three metres are expected. Temperatures will fall, with minimums of 7 degrees and maximums of 15.
Unsettled weather will continue on Sunday, with cloudy skies and intermittent showers, a 75% chance of rain and slightly lower temperatures, with highs not exceeding 14 degrees.
