Christmas and New Year’s Eve 2025 celebrations were marked by heavy rain, as was Three Kings’ Day at the start of 2026. Rain and storms dominated the weather and forced the suspension, postponement or rescheduling of several festive events in both Ibiza and Formentera, including some parades.
However, this period of instability now appears to be coming to an end, at least for the time being. According to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), the coming days will bring mostly clear or lightly cloudy skies, with virtually no chance of precipitation.
In Ibiza, Wednesday, January 7, began with extremely low temperatures. The minimum was recorded at around 8 a.m., reaching just 0.9°C. Cold conditions are expected to persist throughout the day, with a maximum temperature of 12°C. Winds will be moderate, blowing from the west.
Skies will remain clear on Thursday, when temperatures will start to rise, with minimums of 9°C and highs of 16°C. Aemet has issued a warning for strong winds beginning at midnight and lasting until 8.59 a.m. on Friday, with gusts that could reach up to 70 km/h. On Friday, temperatures are expected to range between 8°C and 16°C, with partly cloudy skies.
Similar conditions are forecast for Saturday, with slightly cloudy skies and temperatures between 9°C and 15°C. On Sunday, Ibiza can expect a slight increase in cloud cover and a 10% chance of rain. From Monday onwards, temperatures are set to rise further, along with a small chance of isolated showers.
In Formentera, milder conditions will be felt on Wednesday, with minimum temperatures of 7°C and a maximum of 13°C. Minimum temperatures will also be higher than in Ibiza on Thursday, when values are expected to range between 11°C and 15°C, under completely clear skies.
The strong wind warning will also be in force in Formentera during the early hours of Friday. Over the weekend, some cloud cover is expected, while temperatures will remain stable, between 11°C and 16°C.
