Reclaiming Ibiza’s public roads

They are calling on the administration to guarantee the right of access to public roads.

Ibiza yesterday joined the 2nd Day of Livestock and Public Roads, a day of protest to defend the importance of the right of access and to avoid the “abuse and misappropriation” that are sometimes committed by the properties along their routes.

The Plataforma pels Camins Públics d’Eivissa organized an excursion to join this protest, which at the national level was organized by the Plataforma ibérica por los caminos públicos, the Spanish Federation of Mountain Sports and Climbing and Ecologistas en acción.

Circular route

The hike started in the morning from Sant Miquel de Balansat and headed towards Sant Mateu, through the Pou d’en Besora, to Santa Gertrudis and back to the starting point. This 15-kilometre circular route ran along rural roads and paths in the municipalities of Sant Joan, Sant Antoni and Santa Eulària.
