The eagerness of the Balearic Govern to put an end to the so-called drunken tourism has left party boats aside, despite the fact that the autonomous administration itself assured that it had banned this activity. There is no regulation that vetoes the commercialization and organization of parties with DJs on boats, nor that an open bar is offered on them, unlike in the tourist establishments of West End.
The only restriction introduced by the decree law against excess tourism of 2020 was a moratorium to expand the existing supply of parties on boats: “No new responsible statements can be submitted by the companies holding marine transport that organize parties or dances on board”. This same limitation has now been included in the new Tourism Law, approved on May 31, and will only be maintained “until the activity of parties or mass events on boats is regulated,” according to the regulations.
Party Boat Tickets
At present, an average of five party boats sail daily from the docks of ses Figueretes and es Viver, according to one of the companies in the area. The prices of two of the companies that commercialize these parties by Internet range between 90 euros, with an open bar of sangria and beer, and 200 for the most select option, which also includes mojitos and cocktails without limit or Balinese beds next to the DJ’s cabin.

The Balearic Government itself assured on May 19th that the party boats could not be held in the Balearic Islands. On that occasion, the Ministry of Transport presented the draft decree of Maritime Transport in the Balearic Islands, which in the Pitiusas especially affected the excursions.
When this department was asked if the rules regulated the marketing of boat parties, which had been banned during the covid restrictions (already lifted at that time), it was indicated that they were prohibited and that, in any case, the reponsibility is of the autonomous Ministry of Tourism.
The employers’ association of leisure establishments Abone also insisted that these parties on boats be prohibited by the Govern
Only two days earlier, the Association of Nightlife and Daytime Leisure and Entertainment Establishments of the Balearic Islands (Abone), denounced that party boats were beginning to be held in Palma and insisted that they were prohibited in the Balearic Islands as a whole. The Ministry of Tourism of the Government also reiterated yesterday to this newspaper that its regulations outlaw these parties.
