Fine sand and transparent waters, it is one of the most popular places during the summer months, something that can become a drawback. In recent years, the gastronomic offering has exploded and you can taste hamburgers to sushi or seafood in one of its multiple beach bars and restaurants.

Platges de Comte

Platges de Comte is a group of several small coves located very close to Cala Bassa.

With crystal clear waters, it is one of the most popular places to see the sunset so the influx of people, as in Cala Bassa, is very high in full tourist season. Es Bol Nou

Better known as sa Caleta, its main characteristic is the clayey cliffs that surround it. Barely 70 meters long, the beach’s quiet atmosphere reigns. From the same beach, to the right and bordering the cliffs, there are two other small coves with both sandy and rocky areas. Before accessing the beach, and following the path on the left, you will find the Phoenician settlement of Sa Caleta from the 8th century BC.

Cala Xarraca

This is one of the best known beaches in the north of the island. Its rich seabed is of great interest to divers, while bathers appreciate the calm environment and crystal clear waters. Off the coast of Cala Xarraca is a small islet that can be easily reached by swimming.

Benirràs

Known worldwide for the ancient drum festivals that were held on the nights of a full moon, it is one of the most popular beaches during the weekends. Today, and especially on Sundays, you can still hear the drums to the rhythm of the sunset. A fact that has led to the need to regulate both traffic and the influx of people. Cap Bernat, a rock off this coast, is the perfect setting for the sunset.

Pou des Lleó

Located in the northeast of the island, Pou des Lleó is made up of different coves and jetties to enjoy a quiet, peaceful day. It is an ideal area for lovers of diving, paddle surfing or kayaking. Cala d’Hort

In fact, es Vedrà is one of the most popular locations for those who come to the island as it is one of the best known spots to watch the sunset. It is nestled between two high mountains with lush vegetation. Cala Llonga, located in the east of the island, is a consolidated tourist and residential area with a quiet family atmosphere. Easily accessible, it is an ideal place to go with children and family. There are all kinds of services in the beaches surroundings. 190 meters of fine sand and gently sloping shallows.

Cala Saladeta

This beach is not understood without Cala Salada, another of the larger options and located next to each other, but separated by some rocky cliffs. Both beaches are surrounded by a leafy forest. Its popularity and narrow accesses have forced the restriction of access and it is necessary to use the public transport access the beach and avoid the traffic jams. The crystalline waters are one of the characteristics of this area.

Talamanca

It is one of the urban beaches of the municipality of Ibiza most loved by families. In its depths is the largest and oldest oceanic posidonia meadow on the island of Ibiza. Just 15 minutes walk from the center of Vila, is long, wide, white sandy shores with a 400m wooden walkway. Around the beach there are many bars and restaurants where you can eat with your feet in the sand.

Ses Salines

It is ‘the beach’ of Ibiza. Located within the Natural Park of ses Salines and surrounded by dunes. It streches for 1km and is an area for both families and those who want to listen to DJ music in several of its beach clubs, where year after year you can see many celebrities who come for its characteristic turquoise waters. Next to it are the only conserved train tracks of the salt trains which once circulated the island.

Cala Mastella

Located in the municipality of Santa Eulària, this cove that cannot be reached by public transport and once parked a small walk is required. It is not the ideal beach to visit with children. It is small (60 meters) but tranquility can still be found even in high season. The water is unique due to the rocks, the white sand and the posidonia found at the bottom. In Cala Mastella you can find one of the island’s most emblematic beach bars and a tiny harbor with beach huts for the fishing boats.

Aigües Blanques

Besides being one of only two Ibizan beaches (together with es Cavallet) officially considered nudist, its unique location, at the foot of a steep cliff, has kept it safe from urbanization.

From here there is a beautiful panoramic view of Punta Grossa and the island of Tagomago, as well as a group of small islets and reefs close to the shore, to which you have to pay close attention as the usual swell sometimes prevents you from seeing them clearly.

It is 300 meters long and averages 10 meters wide. Its medium grain, toasted sand forms a very open beach that is exposed to frequent winds from the east, causing strong waves.

Cala Vedella

This is a beautiful beach in the municipality of Sant Josep. Surrounded by cliffs, it is usually very protected from the wind. With many services available, it is a favourite amongst tourists and residents. Ideal for families.

It is a smaller beach (250 meters in length) with one of the natural ports of the island, where  dry dock fishing huts are located. Its waters are crystalline and has the feeling of an authentic swimming pool.

Es Cavallet

One of Ibiza’s nudist beaches. Together with ses Salines and es Codolar it is located within the Natural Area of Special Interest of ses Salines, catalogued as an Area of Special Interest for Birds (ZEPA) by the European Union.

Es Cavallet has fine white natural sand. It is about 1.5km long and averages between 30 and 40 meters wide.

Es Portitxol

It is a very isolated cove and unknown to even many residents of the island. It requires a long walk up a steep hillside and you have to be loaded with provisions, because once you get there, there are no services.

It is located in the municipality of Sant Joan and probably the most comfortable way to enjoy its crystal clear, fishfilled waters (it is a great idea to bring snorkling goggles) is from the sea. If you are looking for tranquility and lush nature, this is your pick.

Punta Galera

Water erosion has not managed to soften the sharp profile of the elongated headland of Punta de sa Galera. A tiny cove of no more than 20 meters, it is one of the most unspoiled corners of Ibiza and whose rocky bottoms have everything you can dream of for diving.

In this cove, the sunset transforms the landscape into an orange-colored bath. If you bring your camera, the images will be some of the best you can capture on the island.

Cala Tarida

Cala Tarida is one of the most beautiful beaches in Poniente and well worth a visit. If sports are your thing, you’ve found the right place: windsurfing, water skiing, scuba diving and sailing are just some of the sports you can enjoy. On its slopes there are two hotels, as well as apartments.

Two small islets remain attached to the land by the sands. They are more than 270 metres long with an average width of around 40 metres. The seabed is sandy and very gently sloping, except for the area on the left, where some rocks appear, as they are barely more than 150 centimetres deep at 40 metres from shore.

It is accessible by bus. In addition to hotels, apartments and restaurants, Cala Tarida enjoys a great recreational-sports offer.

Cala Jondal

A beautiful cove in a very quiet setting, characterized by its white pebbles and the relaxing sounds produced by the waves from the open sea.

The buildings on this agricultural plain are mostly huts where farm tools and farm houses lay: Cala Jondal has preserved its typically Ibizan rural charm.

This plain contrasts with the colossal size of Puig d’es Jondal, which rises 160 meters high on the left and its geometric extension, the Punta d’es Jondal, juts out into the sea like a sharp point.
