A total of 18 Ibizan clubs have been nominated for the prestigious list “The World’s 100 Best Clubs” 2023, the winners of which will be announced at the Golden Moon Awards Gala, as part of the ninth edition of the International Nightlife Congress, which will be held in conjunction with the fourth edition of the National Leisure Congress on 27th and 28th November in Barcelona.
Ibiza is the place with the highest number of premises nominated for these prestigious worldwide awards, an event in which the following participate 373 establishments from 65 different countriesof which only one will be proclaimed “The World’s Best Club” (The World’s Best Nightclub), a title that Hï Ibiza has managed to raise in the last three editions. Amnesia Ibiza, Blue Marlin Ibiza, Café Mambo Ibiza, Club Chinois, DC10, Destino Ibiza, Eden, Hï Ibiza, Ibiza Rocks, Itaka, Linekers, Lio Ibiza, Nassau Beach Club, O Beach Ibiza, Octan, Pachá Ibiza, Playa Solei and Ushuaïa Ibiza are the venues that opt for the recognition of the best club in the world, which is annually made public by the International Nightlife Association.
“It is a pride that there are so many Ibizan clubs nominated for these awards. A total of eighteen, more than any other year,” he said José Luís Benítez, president of International Nightlife Association and vice-president of Spain Nightlife, who stressed that nightlife “attracts many tourists to the island”, and that, thanks to this, “the island’s nightlife is a great attraction”visit the beaches, enjoy its gastronomy and stay in our hotels“.
Benítez has referred to the professionalism of the sector in terms of security and sound, as well as the “big investments” that big businessmen carry out so that their premises have the “latest technology and innovation”. “For years we have been number one in the world in nightlife due to our professionalism and also because in one week in Ibiza you can see nine of the ten best DJs in the world,” he said.
Spain, with Ibiza at the forefront, leads the nominations for the list, with a total of 77 venues nominated, followed by the United States with 46 and Italy with 19. It should be noted that Ibiza, once again and for the 6th consecutive edition, is the destination that contributes the most venues worldwide. The following destinations in Spain are: Barcelona with 15, Madrid with 10, Marbella with 6 and Tenerife with 4 nominated venues.
This year’s definitive list will be determined on the basis of the number of votes on-line received by each of the nominated clubs, as well as for the voting by a professional jury. The online popular vote will represent 50% of the final vote. The remaining percentage will be determined by a jury of industry experts who will evaluate the performance of the venues during the year, based on the following criteria criteria such as programming, safety, acoustics and quality of services, among other factors.
As a novelty in this edition, the International Nightlife Association will recognize with an award the best DJ of the year, the best new artist and the best festival of 2023.
Hï Ibiza, leader of the last three editions
In the list “The World’s 100 Best Clubs” 2022, which was unveiled at the Golden Moon Awards Gala held in Adeje (Tenerife), the first place went to Hï Ibiza. The Omnia Las Vegas venue came second, while third and fourth place went to Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel and Washington D.C.’s Echostage, respectively.
