The consequences of the DANA in Ibiza: one month to recover Portinatx

Portinatx will need around a month of work to fully recover and overcome the damage left by the passage of the DANA ‘Alice’, which last weekend hit the municipality of Sant Joan de Labritja particularly hard, according to rainfall measurements recorded by the Spanish Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

This Thursday, four days after ‘Alice’ delivered its final blow to the area, the recovery work undertaken by the Town Council to restore normality in Portinatx — where the effects of the storm are still clearly visible — intensified significantly.

According to municipal sources, the Council is processing emergency contracts with the main priorities being to repair and cover damaged pipes, remove rocks and debris, and carry out the necessary restoration work on the beaches — both in the sand areas and along the walkways — which were also severely affected by the storm.
