Nativity scenes are once again one of the great attractions of Christmas in Ibiza. From the city to the smallest village, including private courtyards turned into miniature theatrical scenes, the island offers an authentic nativity route for all tastes during these festive days.
Here is an itinerary featuring some of the most special nativity scenes in each municipality.
Ibiza Town: the Sant Elm nativity scene
In Ibiza Town, the traditional nativity scene has been on display since 8 December at Sant Elm Church, located at Calle Josep Verdera, 18. It will remain open until 7 January, from Tuesday to Saturday, from 11:30 am to 1 pm and from 5:30 pm to 7 pm.
For the past fifteen years, the display has been created by nativity scene designer José Luis Marcos, who once again combines classic elements with local details in a carefully crafted setting.
The Traspas and Torijano nativity scene, a jewel of Dalt Vila
One of the most unique nativity scenes on the island is the one prepared every year by Isabel Delgado and Jesús García, known as Traspas and Torijano, on Carrer Major in Dalt Vila.
In the courtyard of their home, they create a complete scene visible from the street through a gate, allowing neighbours and visitors to enjoy the nativity scene without having to enter the property.
The nativity scene has already been open for several days and will remain on display until 9 January, every day from 9 am to 9 pm.

Sant Joan: tradition at the church of Sant Miquel
In the municipality of Sant Joan, the main point of reference is the nativity scene at the church of Sant Miquel. The display is being set up on 9 December and, from this weekend onwards, it can be visited during the usual opening hours of the church, from 9 am to 6 pm.
It is a classic nativity scene, integrated into the architecture of one of the most emblematic churches in the north of the island.
Santa Eulària: Jesús and Puig de Missa
In Santa Eulària, the villages of Jesús and Puig de Missa concentrate much of the nativity scene activity.
- The nativity scene at the church of Jesús is already installed and can be visited during worship times and regular opening hours.
- There are also nativity scenes in the churches of Sant Carles, Santa Gertrudis and Puig d’en Valls.
In addition, on 20 December, a live nativity scene will take place in Plaza de Jesús, where local residents and groups will recreate the Nativity and other traditional scenes. On the 25th, Puig de Missa will once again host a living nativity that will wind its way through streets and corners, blending religious tradition, landscape and community participation.

Sant Antoni: living nativity scene and municipal display
In Sant Antoni, Christmas will feature two key dates:
- 13 December: living nativity scene in the porch of the church, with neighbours and associations bringing the classic scenes of the Nativity to life.
- 14 December: inauguration of the municipal nativity scene, created by nativity scene designer Jesús González. This year it is installed at Calle Santa Agnès, 4, and can be visited throughout the Christmas holidays.
Sant Josep: wicker nativity scenes in the parishes
In the municipality of Sant Josep, there is no single municipal nativity scene this year. Instead, the Town Council has opted for a different proposal: wicker nativity scenes have been placed outside the churches of Sant Agustí, Sant Francesc, Es Cubells, Sant Jordi and Sant Josep. At dusk, they are illuminated alongside the Christmas lights, creating simple yet very photogenic scenes.
In addition, several parishes in the municipality have set up their own traditional nativity scenes inside their churches, with visiting times linked to religious services and normal opening hours.
With this route, Ibiza becomes a small open-air and indoor nativity map, where each village adds its own personal touch. A perfect excuse to tour the island in full Christmas spirit.
