Bug in Apple’s Melib app limits charging of electric cars in Balearic Islands

Users on Iphone have not been able to connect their vehicles in recent days due to an alleged connection failure, the solution: reinstalling

Many users of electric vehicles in Ibiza have encountered difficulties this week in being able to connect to the public network of chargers of Electric Mobility of the Balearic Islands (Melib). Since the Balearic Energy Institute (IBE) indicate that they are studying a possible bug that affects only users who connect through an Iphone.

Drivers who have reported the error indicate that, when they go to load their vehicle they it was impossible to establish the connection through the mobile application. On the surface, the charging posts were operational, everything seemed fine, but when it was time to start the recharge on their cell phone, a message appeared indicating that it was not possible to establish a connection with the server.

According to IBE sources the network of chargers is working properly, apart from occasional failures at some recharging points. They verified that recharging had been carried out normally, but noted, after verification, that the problem was occurring when charging vehicles if the user connected via an iPhone. The connection through devices with operating system Android devices were working properly.

After some checks they detected that the system is working properly again if the user removes the Melib application and reinstalls it on his device. They indicated that they will study what the error is in order to correct it as soon as possible.
