From Sunday, Bars and restaurants will be able to have eight people per table on the terraces and can remain open until 23.30h. The new relaxation of restrictions against the coronavirus that will be presented this afternoon and will be approved on Friday will also allow all indoors areas to open with 50% of capacity regardless of whether or not they have a terrace. The Govern proposes to maintain greater restrictions on establishments in areas linked to excessive tourism.
In this way, in a new step in the framework of the Govern’s slow de-escalation strategy, in addition to the end of the current midnight curfew, we will also see the end of the 50 per cent capacity restriction for places of worship and the extension of family and social gatherings to eight people indoors and 15 outdoors, restrictions on the hospitality sector will also be lifted again this Sunday: the main change will be the amplification to eight people per table on terraces. For the time being they will remain at four indoors, where the Government continues to warn of a greater risk.
In addition to the extension of the number of diners per table, the Government also plans to extend the hours of both indoor venues and terraces until 23:30h. They also plan to extend the capacity of interiors to 50 percent regardless of whether they have a terrace or not. It should be remembered that in the last two weeks, premises with terraces could only be open with a capacity of 30 percent. All these changes will be announced today by the Government in the Bureau of Social Dialogue.
Moreover, large premises will be set at a maximum of 150 people indoors and 250 people in exterior spaces. The Govern also plans to differentiate between zones to maintain greater restrictions in those nuclei more linked to high levels of tourism.
These new restrictions will be maintained for fifteen days until the 21 June.
