The National Police in Ibiza have arrested a man in Ibiza for refusing to pay for a 1,300 euro dinner at a restaurant where he had dined on the island.The diner ordered lobster and bottles of champagne and after dining, refused to pay a bill, which amounted to almost 1,300 euros.
The restaurant employees called the police to alert them to what had happened and to arrest the alleged scammer. Apparently, the man had pretended to pay on several occasions with his cell phone, but the banking app had always rejected the charge.
Later, the alleged perpetrator of the scam claimed that he had money, but refused to pay the corresponding amount without giving any further explanation, the workers told the cops.
Among his belongings he was carrying several bank cards with which he had no intention of paying, so the agents were finally forced to arrest him.
