Aemet announces an important change in the weather in Ibiza: lower temperatures and rain

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has forecast a change in weather conditions across the Balearic Islands this weekend, with heavy rain and a noticeable drop in temperatures expected. In Ibiza and Formentera, skies will begin to cloud over on Sunday, with rain likely to arrive from midday.

According to Jorge Rodríguez, deputy spokesperson for Aemet in the Balearic Islands, Friday will bring intervals of cloud across the islands. Temperatures will fall slightly, with highs between 23 and 26 degrees and lows ranging from 13 to 20 degrees.

On Saturday, partly cloudy skies will predominate, tending to clear later in the day. In Mallorca, some morning fog banks may also form. However, temperatures will rise slightly, reaching highs of between 25 and 28 degrees. Winds are expected to be light, from the south and southwest, veering to the northwest overnight.

The change in weather will become more noticeable on Sunday. The day will start with intermittent cloud, becoming increasingly overcast from midday onwards. Showers and locally heavy downpours are expected, according to meteorologists.

Rain could persist across the Pitiusas throughout the week, accompanied by a gradual decrease in temperatures.
