Parking in Formentera’s Blue Zones will be free in Sant Francesc, Sant Ferran and es Pujols from 1 November to 31 March, as the island switches to its winter parking arrangements. La Savina will be the only area where regulated parking remains in force.
The Consell de Formentera will suspend the paid parking system in the three towns from 1 November, allowing drivers to use designated Blue Zone spaces without taking a parking ticket. The measure will remain in place until 31 March.
During these five months, La Savina will be the only part of the island where drivers must still obtain a ticket to park in regulated spaces. The ticket machines in Sant Francesc, Sant Ferran and es Pujols will remain out of service until the winter period ends.
Blue Zone parking hours in La Savina
In La Savina, the Blue Zone will operate on the following winter schedule:
- Monday to Friday: 9 am–2 pm and 4 pm–8 pm.
- Saturday: 9 am–2 pm.
- Sundays and public holidays: Free parking.
Maximum parking times: 72 hours or 30 minutes
In standard Blue Zone spaces, the maximum permitted parking period will be 72 hours. Short-stay spaces, designed to encourage vehicle turnover, will have a 30-minute limit.
In both types of spaces, drivers will be required to obtain the appropriate parking ticket, although parking will be free for Formentera residents. The 30-minute spaces will also be free for other users.
Green Zone parking and the park-and-ride facility
The Green Zone and the park-and-ride car park in La Savina will continue to operate as usual. Ticket machines will remain available during the designated operating hours.
The Consell also reminds drivers that they can use an electronic parking ticket, allowing them to manage regulated parking without printing a paper ticket. The option is intended to make the process easier and reduce waste.
